Description

Two, Tung Sol USA 2A3 tubes. These are obviously, vintage, US made Tung Sol tubes and not the modern-day, Russian made reproduction/re-issue Tung Sol tubes. Red printed logo bases, dual flat black plates, smoked glass. These earlier Tung Sol 2A3 tubes look a lot like the Ken-Rad made 2A3 tube in their construction, differing mostly with the mica mounts at the top of the glass. Outstanding sonics. Tested on a Hickok TV-3 military tester that has been calibrated. Firm bases, excellent silvering. Tubes are matched for structure and dynamic gain- test at 3400, 3300 where pass/fail is 1900 micromho. The tubes are branded Triangle, which was a wholly owned subsidiary of Tung Sol and Lafayette, which was a radio sales house that Tung Sol often manufactured tubes for. The tubes have the same structure inside and out, having date codes "22" and "17", September and April 1943, wartime manufacture. Many other lots of tubes for sale this week.
